Much easier for me to see the Virgin as the Goddess. The Dancing Cronehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12661825713234722591noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4711549903890442918.post-76485794900277540762012-12-18T19:37:22.315-05:002012-12-18T19:37:22.315-05:00Hi again Francie, the 'Sophia' link I foll...Hi again Francie, the 'Sophia' link I followed referred to Sophia/Wisdom as a goddess...

"Sophia is honored as a goddess of wisdom by Gnostic Christians, as well as by some Neopagan, New Age, and feminist-inspired Goddess spirituality groups."

Which I was surprised to learn, unless I'm not reading it correctly.Jane https://www.blogger.com/profile/05368686874403775974noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4711549903890442918.post-6503631265391574682012-12-18T15:51:45.405-05:002012-12-18T15:51:45.405-05:00I gather your background is Greek, Martha! The word Sophia is well known to me since it means wisdom in Greek; it's a very beautiful, soft word in that language with a lot of meaning. Trouble is, not all of us attain the wisdom needed to grow as human beings and make this a peaceful world!Plowing Through Life (Martha)https://www.blogger.com/profile/06547318824997712369noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4711549903890442918.post-77388272017715335052012-12-18T14:16:44.198-05:002012-12-18T14:16:44.198-05:00In pre-monotheistic days, Sophia would probably ha...In pre-monotheistic days, Sophia would probably have been characterized as Jehovah's consort. And the Jews DID have pre-monotheistic days and remained prone to worshipping multiple deities well into Jehovah's era. That's why Jehovah is a jealous god who demands no other gods before him, LOL!Debra She Who Seekshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01845703092794695023noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4711549903890442918.post-73525748467815987082012-12-18T13:25:13.417-05:002012-12-18T13:25:13.417-05:00Interesting, Jane. On my first year studying Psychology, a senior explained to me that all school of thoughts lead to the human being, that in response to the constant battle between Gestalt therapy, person centered, behaviorism, etc.
That's how I see religion, just different paths leading to one goal which is G-d or kindness if one is atheist. Just different ways to look at one thing... so I still don't grasp all the fighting *sighs*Introverted Arthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00039583784959811799noreply@blogger.com
